從羅馬尼亞回家以後，
很多人都問，「你覺得羅馬尼亞是個怎麼樣的國家啊？」
嗯…
這個問題的答案我每次都說得不一樣，
因為對我而言，真的，一言難盡
After I backed to Taiwan,
Lots of people asked me, “What’s your feeling about Romania?”
Hmm…
It seemed I answered differently everytime
先聊點比較輕鬆的話題，
也是很多人愛問的，
「羅馬尼亞的東西貴還是便宜？」
First talk the question which I often be asked,
“If the products there cheap or expensive?”
跟台灣相比，
我覺得在羅馬尼亞平均而言物價跟台灣基本上差不多，或是略略低一些，
但中間的差異很大，
如果是買生食材，價格通常比台灣低很多，
而購買熟食、吃餐廳，價格幾乎都高過於台灣的同類型食物
Compare to Taiwan,
I think in average, our price seems almost the same, but Romanian still less some,
But in there,
The food for instance, if you buy ingredients, it will be very cheaper than TW,
If buying the food be cooked, the price generally much higher than TW
所以當時為了省錢省旅費，
我平日在宿舍都是早餐吃超市麵包，晚餐自己開伙，
把錢留給假日出去玩XDDD
When I was there, I often had bread which bought from supermarket for breakfast,
And cooked dinner by myself to save some money for the traveling in weekends

另外就是大家對歐洲常提到的，
「吉普賽人」
因為自己當時宿舍旁緊鄰的就是吉普賽人聚落，
6週住下來對他們的感覺真的沒辦法說擁有好感……
And some may ask me about the Gypsy
To be honest, I got no good feeling to them when lived near them in the six weeks,
But that’s not meaning that I hate them
大概有幾個小故事可以跟大家分享吧，
第一個算是一個困擾，
吉普賽人非常喜愛唱歌跳舞，
我住在旁邊，總覺得當音樂響起的時候他們才像活著一樣，
但困擾的是，他們活力無窮，
大夥可以從下午一路嗨到深夜凌晨，等到日出再回被窩裡睡
There were two stories about gypsies in my experience there,
The first was like a disturb to me at night,
Gypsies really likes to dancing & singing,
But they enjoying this nonstop when midnight till sunrise
但對我們來說，
因為平日每天都要上課備課，
晚上真的需要休息，
所以也就成為一種困擾
To us that time, cuz we need to go school everyday,
The night was our time to rest,
So that their sounds to playing music and dancing became a noise lol
另外一個就是我差點被扒手偷東西的事，
他最後沒偷成除了自己太傻摸錯地方，大概也找不到其他原因，
畢竟當下狀況雖然我還是有保持警覺心，包包也是側背在胸前，
但正好也跟夥伴在聊天，
天知道他自己手擺錯地方變成摸我腰，直接從偷竊變性騷擾的部分XD
但就是因為這次事件讓我對吉普賽人更加重防備心
Another was the thief
That day me and Rozelin were on the bus as normal we do to go school,
Suddenly a Gypsy man took on, when he passed by me,
His hand tried to touch my bag I carried front my chest,
Of course he failed,
But because of this, I became more guard against Gypsies
不過吉普賽人的確很熱情，
尤其像我亞洲臉孔，對於他們而言幾乎沒有看過，
我跟學姊到當地就有吉普賽人跑來找我們倆要一起拍照XD
Otherwise, Gypsies really passionate,
Especially I’m Asian which they may never see before,
There was a Gypsy girl who ever came to me and Heather to ask for took a pic with us lol
簡而言之，
對於吉普賽人，在我的體驗裡，
雖然不到有好感，但也不會說討厭，
我體驗過糟糕的事情，卻也看見他們在貧窮生活中的陽光正向
To Gypsies, in my experiences,
Though I had no good feeling to them, but still not equal to I hate them
I ever experienced some terrible things from them,
Also saw how them live positively in poverty
/
再對相對客觀的事物來談吧，
包括了本地的教育跟人才出走的困境，
I want to write something serious here that I heard from my friends there
Including the education there and the predicament about leave home for work
根據我跟當地認識的學生聊天的內容，
在外語的學習上，分成英語跟法語兩種語言，
學生本人在入學第一年就要面臨二選一，
這一次的選擇，影響他們自身未來八年的外語學習，
According to chats with my friends,
In Romania,
students need to choose which foreign language to learn between English and French
And their choice will influence them for the coming eight years in learning,
舉例來說，
假設我今天一年級選擇讀英文，
接下來到八年級為止我的外語都是專心學習英語，
但到九年級時，
我就會轉換去學習法語，
反之亦然
For instance,
I chose to study English when I was in 1st grade,
Till I was 8th, I just studied English but not French
But when I’m in 9th, I will switch to study French.
所以像我們在ALBA的學生，
他們很多是15.16歲，
有人是剛結束英語學習，為了不想忘記說英文的感覺所以加入，
有人是剛開始學英文，為了在短時間內上軌道而加入，
Just like our participants in Alba, most were in 15 or 16 years old,
And their reason for came here most would like to practice speaking English,
Cuz some may just start to learn English, some just ended in scchool
無論如何，
至少我覺得這樣的政策還蠻不錯的，
畢竟對學生來說，這樣在他國中畢業前，
就擁有三種語言的能力了，
作為母語的羅馬尼亞語，還有一個已經精熟，另一個擁有基本能力的英語和法語，
No matter what,
At least I think this is not a bad policy,
The student can know at least three language before he/she graduated from secondary education
Romanian, English and French
而在進入高中教育前的評量上，
根據學生的說法是，
每間學院會各自訂定自己學院的入學分數、考科加權比例，
依照專業的不同而有錄取分數高低，
而學生就依照各自的興趣和志向，去在考試中盡全力考到自己需要達成的門檻，
當然了，如果考不到，那也只好選擇讀其他專業，
就像我學生本來想考到資訊專業的院系，結果成績到不了，
最後跟我說他只能讀經濟專業的學校
(好險他有天跟我說他突然發現他蠻有讀經濟的潛力XDD)
According to my friends said,
There is an exam for students to enroll into high school as well
But not like Taiwanese entrance exam’s rule for choosing school by score
Their rule prefers to choose which department to join
They use scores to separate different interests’ students into different departments
Not like us use scores to separate all students into different classes of schools
當然在我們交談的過程，
或許漏掉去討論名額限制的問題，
但如果撇開這個部分，
只單論學制的設計，
這樣一個把高中變成類似於高教先修學程的設計我覺得是蠻不錯了，
當然大前提是，學生需要對自己有足夠認識，
知道自己對什麼單一專業有興趣，也要願意去付出努力追求成績到達門檻，
甚至如果發現自己成績、能力不足，你有沒有專屬的Plan B甚至Plan C？
Of course maybe we skipped to talk about whether there’s any limitation for admission quotas
But if we focus on the school system,
The system there I preferred more than us
I won’t said that there’s no disadvantage in ROM’s and no advantage in TW’s,
But for instance,
In TW, we all have a myth that there are top high schools,
If you fail to enter, meaning you are not good at studying,
Though you got high scores on the subjects Chinese, English, Math, Social Science, but just got a lower score on Science only
If you failed to get the admission from top schools, you just a loser 🤷♂️
In TW, they don’t care about your interest in the entrance examination,
They just ask you to learn all the main 10 subjects by heart and perform perfect on the exam day
(Chinese, English, Math, History, Geography, Civil Ethics Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Science)
Evaluating you by your score from the exam to decide which school you can enter
After you become a high school student,
You just need to spend another 3 years to learn these 10 subjects but more deeply
And perform perfect again on the university entrance exam 3 years ago
At that time after you finish the university entrance exam,
Finally your time to choose which department you want to enter
But in the period of your studying years, almost none of people lead you to find your interested department…
我相信要能養成上述的自我認知，
羅馬尼亞的教育體系一定在學生養成過程中投注很高的心力，
而同樣的學生狀況，在台灣幾乎算是極少數，
有的甚至到大學畢業還找不到目標
That makes a normal problem that in TW,
Large amounts of students have not knowing about what to do and what to learn after graduated
我們常常在抱怨為什麼自己養不出這樣有想法的青年學子，
而青年學子本人又常常對未來迷惘，搞不懂自己究竟要什麼，
於是這到底是什麼層面出了問題？
是像某些人說的 台灣人不適合外國那樣教法？
還是我們發現問題卻沒勇氣改變的心理障礙？
又或者是整體社會從頭就沒有想找問題的念頭？
We in TW often grumble why our new generation who was born after 1990 have no ideas for their own future,
They don’t know what themselves need or want
That made me sometimes think about what’s the “real” problem?
Like someone said “Taiwanese should not be taught like foreign countries’ ways”?
Or we have no brave to change?
Or maybe the whole society feel the system have no problem……
我當初聽完學生講完後，
問了他一個問題，「高中選了專業，讀之後發現自己不適合怎麼辦？」
他說，讀了三年的專業如果真的是毫無興趣、沒有收穫，
考大學就是最後一次改變的機會了，
到考大學選系就一定要確定自己的能力在哪才行
所以其實我也在期待三年後的他，
會像他說的用最後一次機會去轉讀資訊？或是因為這三年的學習而讀經濟？

再來聊到另個話題，關於人才出走的困境，
這算是我覺得羅馬尼亞跟台灣還蠻像的狀況，
The last I would like to write the problem in ROM,
Also I think common with TW, that’s “brain drain”.
我的一個學生有天跟我聊到，
他說他以後目標是當律師，
但是，是在日本當律師
我老實說第一時間聽到，我滿頭問號，
One of the friends said to me that his goal is to be a lawyer in Japan,
I was very confused when heard this
接著他才緩緩說出，
因為待在國家根本沒有就業機會，
現在留在羅馬尼亞的，多是老人和小孩，
年輕人全部都要往外國走，到西歐、美國，甚至是日本或中國，
要離開自己家鄉才有就業的空間，很多人甚至最後就不再回家
He said, there’s no job opening for them to work in their country,
Youngers all leave for their work, their job,
To Western Europe, to the US, moreover Japan or China,
Lots of people maybe won’t come back in their lifetime
所以他說他會留在家鄉讀完法律專業的高中教育，
之後就爭取到日本讀大學，留在那落地生根，
還跟我約好未來在日本見
He even made a promise with me that we seen next time in JPN…^^
聽起來這是段很悲哀的故事，
然而在他身上看到的，就是羅馬尼亞社會的縮影，
在他之前，類似的出走計畫早已被不計其數的羅馬尼亞人實踐，
算是一種現實的悲歌嗎？或許吧
但，生活在台灣的我們好像是也一個樣，
It sounds like a sad sad story in ROM,
However it seems like very normal there
A type of the elegy of realistic? Maybe.
But… it’s kind of a same situation in TW as well…
前一兩年讀過報導提到一個概念叫「脫台者」，
狹義的定義了離開台灣到中國大陸討生活、甚至定居的人們，
然而台灣人應該早已出走世界各地了，
當然有很多到對岸中國大陸，或東亞及東南亞各國，
不過從以前就有非常多人去到了歐美澳，甚至就此定居，
這不是未來式，不是過去式，而是進行式
於是廣義而言，「脫台者」，亦早已不計其數。
Bcs TW is a small place with no natural resources,
International trading is very important here,
Also bcs here is just a small market,
If we want to have a good job opening, work abroad is been like a better choice than just stay here
Lots of people use lots of ways that try to go the US, another countries in East Asia (e.g. Japan, Korea, China) and etc,
And it seems they won’t back as well…

論羅馬尼亞，
我覺得任何事物都有好與壞，一個國家也一樣，
這裡的確有能為人所詬病的問題，卻也有能讓人被吸引的魅力，
端看你經歷過的是什麼，你又是怎麼解讀它的。
To talk about Romania,
I think there’s pros and cons for everything, including a country,
The country really has some problems need to be solved,
Also has some charms that can catch other’s eyes,
All up to what you experienced, and how you decoded them.
